As an independent artist, Malin has a lot of experience of writing, singing and performing herself. Born and raised in Sweden, she started off playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 8.

In London she has been working with an independent record label, collaborating with other songwriters/producers and played over a hundred shows at legendary venues. In Sweden, Malin has been awarded by the leading Swedish music industry representatives; SKAP with an award for emerging artists/songwriters that helped her build the start of her solo career. She was also a participant of Swedish The Voice on TV4.

As a Vocal coach Malin explored teaching for the first time in 2007 at a music school in Skövde, Sweden. She also worked for different music camps, among those; Voice Camp for aspiring young artists, where she still teaches every summer. The camp includes individual lessons and group workshops in vocal techniques, stage performance, studio recording and music business.

Moving to London 2013, Malin continued her studies in Singing technique along with Management for music business and has since 2016 been coaching singers and songwriters of all ages in central London. She is also one of the coaches at the south London based music school Sing Space.

A persons unique voice has always been a fascination to me. Over the years of working with people from all corners of the world, I’ve seen so many examples of how exploring our own voice often are linked to our personal development. Getting to know your own voice and learn how to use it, can open up to, not only a good singing voice, but also the possibility to improve self-esteem, confidence and being able to speak your truth and express your feelings.

For a first individual Singing Lesson my main goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible and I always keep a very positive and supportive approach. We sing together and discuss your needs and visions on starting lessons and I come with a few suggestions on how we can build and plan your lessons and the practice time in between. Some singers chose to have more technical training with targeted exercises and some likes to work more on song material or a combination of both. All voices and dreams are different and I always aim to find the best way to help you!

Ever since a child, songwriting has always been a natural part of my life, doing it as journaling for myself or creating songs that will go on my albums. Starting a song can be a mysterious thing, sometimes ideas, lines and melodies comes to us in the most peculiar moments and sometimes we are able to sit down and focus to write something we’d like to express.

Regardless if you’re a beginner or have been writing for years and years I’m here to guide your progress. Songwriting is a lifelong craft to learn and we’ll never be fully trained. Some songwriters wish for structure and learning the rules while others like to set free the creativity and see what comes out. I’m here to direct you on your path, sometimes giving alternatives to chords and lyric lines and sometimes helping you to get unstuck and give you tools to finalise your work. These sessions inspires me so much and the result of seeing a writer grow is such a joy!

“As soon as I met Malin for the initial 1/2 hour trial I felt completely at ease, and to this day it seems we laugh almost as much as I sing! It’s my favourite hour of the week, made even more enjoyable by Malin and her friendly, relaxed teaching style and a wealth of experience to draw upon.” – Alexandra, 2019 London

“The lessons are fantastic! Malin’s great at analyzing the habits that hold us back and can provide songs and exercises that target those problem areas, I have learned how to sing in a part of my vocal range I didn’t even know I had.” – Darren, 2018 London

“Malin is not only a very talented singer-songwriter who has released an enormously enjoyable album “Follow”, but she also works as a highly estimated Voice coach and group leader at Voice Camp where my daughter spent a wonderful week in July.”
– Ulrich (Parent of student, Voice Camp SWE 2018)

I am so grateful for the last twenty weeks, simply learning the basics of singing would have been fantastic enough but being able to do it so openly to someone else has been such an emotionally liberating experience. I’m sure it’s only through Malins endless patience & kindness I was able to do so. Malin possesses a kind of carefree enthusiasm that whilst common in children becomes entirely remarkable in adults, it’s certainly a breath of fresh air. I could not have asked for a more suitable teacher and I am astounded how far I’ve come in such a short time.” – Simon, 2017 London
